Jerry Reynolds
- (Rhythm Guitar)
Jerry started
playing guitar at 10 yrs of age while in jr high
school. Jerry also played sax and clarinet in
the school band. He went to full time guitar
and started a rock band his freshman year in high
school and entered their first talent contest as the
Runaways; and won.
That sent them to play on t.v. in Indianapolis. The
show was called bandstand 13. The band then played
sock-hops and school events all over Tippecanoe
County. They won several battle of the bands.
Jerry then filled in with several local bands before
he started the Deuces band and moved to play and win
more battle of the bands. The band also played
the Indiana State Fair, Indiana Beach, and
Frazier's- landing, an Indianapolis amusement park.
During
that time, Jerry played opening for many great acts
Everly Bros. Bobby Goldsboro, and The Fenderman.
After graduating from High school he got married.
After the first child, work before play became more
important and he taught music for Ruddy Mahara music
co, and was hired into the Lafayette Fire Dept.
The
Lafayette fire department started a live band for
the fire prevention show and Jerry was one of many
selected to perform with the group. Jerry,
after 39 + yrs of service, still finds time to play
with the group teaching fire safety. He is
still playing his 1964 fender Jaguar he had in high
school.
